Health and Wellness


Flourish Over Fifty is all about health and wellness. By that I mean health and wellness in today’s society – and I truly believe that is in fact a challenge.

Why might you ask is that a challenge? Lifestyle today is so fast paced that people do not tend to take time for themselves and to stop and consider the long term effects on their body from what is going into their mouth.

The estimated life expectancy is up and now in the U.S. the expected lifespan is from 77.5 – 80. It is projected that over twenty-five percent of the entire U.S. population of 300 million is now over 50.

By these statistics one can only assume that there is a greater demand for a better quality of life and effective healthier products to keep us in good shape and to help us make improved lifestyle choices. But how to find them? How do we make intelligent decisions when everyday there is something new in the news about nutrition – both good and bad?


We all have the power of choice. Rather than thinking that drugs and medications will solve all of our health problems, we need to take a good look at our lives and be willing to make lifestyle changes.

Reaching fifty generates new challenges and opportunities for everyone. Many of the problems we encounter over fifty are rooted in the things we eat. Most people are concerned about their wellness and by the age of 50 it should become a priority and put into the proper perspective.

My goal is to learn all I can about proper nutrition and the benefits gained from making healthy choices. In this blog I hope to educate myself and along the way maybe help others to also become better informed.
